The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of Home

“Mom, mom, MOM!” yelled Isabelle.
“Yes honey,” replied her Mom.
“Mom I need you to clean my dirty room. My friends are coming in 4 hours,” said Isabelle. “Also, I need you to make my breakfast, oh, and also get my clothes from the laundry,” Isabelle told her mom.
“NO ISABELLE! Do you know how privileged you are to have a home that you can relax in and clear your mind after a hard day at school or work and a warm meal on the table and clean clothes for you to wear every day?” hollered Isabelle’s mom. “So, no, I will not clean your dirty room, make your breakfast and I will not get your clothes from the laundry. Isabelle don’t you understand how lucky we are?” Isabelle’s mom asked her.
After a little bit of crying, Isabelle realized that her mom was right, they were lucky to have a nice home.
“You’re right mom, I’m very lucky, maybe we should donate some stuff to someone in need of a place to stay and food to eat,” Isabelle decided.
“I’ll go online and try to find a website that will work to donate money to someone in need of a home,” Isabelle suggested.
“That’s a great idea honey,” Isabelle’s mom agreed. “Thanks mom,” Isabelle said.
“Look mom I found a great website, it’s called habitat for humanity,” Isabelle mentioned! “Mom the website says that if you want to donate to someone in need press here” Isabelle chirped.
“Ok press it Isabelle” her mom said happily.
“Ok here it goes, done,” Isabelle promised.
“I’m so proud of you honey,” Isabelle’s mom acknowledged. “Thanks mom I feel great donating to someone in need” Isabelle realized. “We should donate again,” shouted Isabelle!
