The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of Home
“Home is a place where it feels right to walk around without shoes.” Have you ever heard this quote before? I have and to me it means that a home is a safe place to live. I can be open, safe and comfortable without being bugged. It’s where we create memories and celebrate holidays. I remember burning my hand on the stove when I was younger like a complete noob. I took my first steps there. I could name 1000 memories but that would take forever. Basically every memory has built our house into a home.
A house is just walls, stairs, a roof and carpets. Mix them all together and you get a house. Houses are just shells. Pretty boring: Am I right? You can tell it’s boring because I can’t think of much else to say about it.
A home is a place where memories and holidays are celebrated and created. It’s where we have movie nights and family nights. It’s where my brother and I have lots of fun together. A home isn’t necessarily a building but a place where you are surrounded by people you love and that love you.
“Home is a place where it feels right to walk around without shoes.” Home is a feeling. Home is a safe place with your family.
Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for providing homes for those who need them most.
