The Meaning of Home
The Meaning of a Home
A home is where families live, feel safe and feel comfortable enough to be themselves. I love my home and can’t imagine that some people don’t have a home or a bed to sleep in.
Living in a home means being totally comfortable. In a home, people eat great food with their family and friends. You may hear laughter. You may see children playing games and a sport game in the background. This is important because these are signs of love.
Homes make people feel safe because they protect you and your family from the outside world. Inside homes you find doors, clothes, alarms, and night lights. Feeling safe is important for young children because they need to go to bed without any worries and get a good rest.
A home lets people be themselves by feeling free to do what they want. If you feel comfortable being yourself, then you can reach your potential. Being yourself is important for growing up because you need to find out what you are good at doing and what you are truly interested in. This will open up many doors for your future.
It is heartbreaking to know that people don’t have a home that is safe. For example, it may have mold or a broken home that needs renovations. For this reason, I am glad that people come together and join Habitat for Humanity to provide better homes to live in.
