The Meaning of Home

The Meaning of Home

Home is a place to feel safe and relax and to be happy. But home for some people are not those things. It could be dangerous or stressful or even unhappy for them. Even though I live in Saskatoon, my home is in Calgary where I grew up and a lot of my memories are. I can’t imagine never living in Calgary and never having those memories. There is also a plus side to living in Saskatoon, like how safe it is and how much nature there is around the area where I live.

I could never ever imagine saying that my home isn’t safe and that I am in danger, like some people could say their home life is. I am so lucky to be in a safe home and a safe environment. I can also say that I am lucky to be around so much of my family. Especially the family that I am very close to. Most of my memories are of houses that I’ve lived in and people that I’ve met when I was younger. It doesn’t sound like much to miss but to me it means everything to me.

People who can’t say the same about their home, are probably very miserable with their home life. All I can say is that I feel so lucky to be in a safe place with kind people and so much nature to be around. Home is also a place to be who you are and to do your homework, which is why it can be stressful for people sometimes, and also some people’s parents are strict or judgemental which is why it might be hard to tell them things or to be who they are. Home is the place to do anything anytime.
