The meaning of home

The meaning of home

It’s hard to imagine what life would be like without home. When different people hear the word “home”, they get reminded of different things. Most people might think of family or a place to sleep. When I think of the word “home”, I think of my family. I think of all the different memories I’ve had within these walls.

Happy memories, sad memories, even funny memories.

They all happen here, in your home. You might be wondering why I used the word home so many times but never the word house. Why?Well, if you think about it, there’s a big difference between those 2 words.

Home means a place where you can live happily. You look forward to going there because you truly love that place, and you know that loved ones are waiting for you. A house means, well, a place where you sleep, eat and live. I don’t know about you, but I would definitely prefer a home over a house. I’m not writing this essay just to win an tablet. I’m doing it to raise ten dollars to help build affordable homes. You know why? Because some people who deserve much more don’t even have a roof over their heads. I hope this essay will move you. A person without a home is like a fish without water.
