Home has a very different meaning than house. While house is a type of structure that people live in, home can actually be anywhere as long as it is somewhere you feel safe and welcome. These words can often be mistaken to have the same meaning, but only because most people who have a house, it is there home. For homeless (or we could also say houseless) people, there are quite a bunch of different places they might call home but yet they do not have a house. Sometimes it can actually be the opposite. A person might have a house, but nowhere they call home.
