JUMPING INTO A LAKE IN SEPTEMBER!

JUMPING INTO A LAKE IN SEPTEMBER!

HOME, have you ever thought of what that means? It’s not your house it’s a thing that you’re connected to. If you didn’t have it you couldn’t live. For me it’s my cottage down at the lake with my family.

“OMG IT’S COLD!” I yelled as I swam as fast as I could for the ladder.

Our entire family was down at the dock of our lake on the day before Thanksgiving. My mom, dad, aunt, uncle, their two kids also known as my cousins, and my grandparents were there. Me and my little cousin had already jumped in the laked but my two little brothers were too chicken to jump in. All of the sudden my 1 year old cousin got a little jealous and wanted to jump in herself. Everybody was laughing there heads off. Finally my uncle gave in and took off all her clothes except for her dipper and dipped her in. My uncle asked her “do you like it Lylah”. She was laughing like a mongoose and when she got out she yelled “noooooooo” which is her favorite word and the only one she knows. Guess what, everyone continues to laugh like a psycho chicken. Finally once everybody couldn’t feel their toes. We wanted to go back up to the cottage from the water but my little cousin Iver wouldn’t get out. So we did the appropriate thing, we laughed.

At this moment it hit me, this is what home means. Being with my family at my cottage. My favorite place in the world.
