HOUSE VS HOME

“A house holds our stuff. A home holds our hearts”
This quote is very important to me because it explains perfectly how I feel about my own home. A house is built to hold our stuff but a home isn’t. A home is a place filled with memories, love and the feeling of warmth. Everyone should have a home no matter what because with a home you can make great unforgettable memories. They just make you feel safe and secure.
My home is a place where I’m accepted, loved and can do anything I want. I have a lot of lovable memories. One that’s really important is that my grandma passed away when I was around 7 or 8. I was sad but I knew that I would remember all our amazing memories we made in our home. Like when she came to my house for Christmas and we brought my dog Bowie over to her apartment for the very first time. She helped me learn to do all kinds of math. She taught me how to accept people for who they are and taught me how to be kind caring and friendly. She was and will always be special to me. If I didn’t have a home, I wouldn’t have all of the memories that I have today.
The Habitat for Humanity does amazing thing for people who don’t have enough money to afford a home. If I could I would buy food, clothing and shelter for those who have none. I want to make a difference and help everyone have a safe home.
