Home Sweet Home
I jumped in the front seat of my dad’s car ready for another day at middle school. When I arrived at school, I hopped out of the car and walked into the building. When I got inside, I just wished it was Saturday. Ring! The day is over and the bell rang. I ran down the street rushing to get home. When I reached my driveway I sprinted to the front door while pulling out my keys.
The door creaked open. I am so happy that it’s the end of the week. I dropped my book bag on the floor, and rushed upstairs. Once I reached the top of the stairs, I sprinted to my bed and belly flopped right into the center of my bed. I tucked myself in and laid my head on my extremely comfortable pillow and had a little cat nap. “Ben, wake up! Its dinner time”, my brother said.
I felt like a zombie walking down the stairs until I smelled dinner. It smelled like a 5 star meal. I sat down on the wooden chair at the table, and took a sip of milk. In fact, there are over 300,000 people in Canada who cannot even afford milk. So if you are eating a meal every night, you should feel grateful.
After dinner, I am thankful for having a soft couch and a fuzzy blanket to snuggle with. It’s now 9:30pm and time to go to bed. I walked upstairs and strolled into the bathroom. I looked into the mirror. I can barely keep my eye lids open. I reached for my toothbrush and toothpaste and started to brush my teeth. I shut off the light and tiptoed into my bedroom.
I lay down in bed and thought to myself that tomorrow is a new day. A new day to enjoy myself and a new day to have fun! I love weekends. I reached over to the right and shut off my lamp. I got comfortable and shut my eyes and dreamed of the day ahead of me. I just wished that everybody could go to sleep in a comfortable bed in a warm house. It didn’t take long before I was fast asleep.
