Home isnt perfect

Home Isn’t Perfect

Home is where you can feel safe. Home is where you have a roof over your head. Home is where your loved ones are. Home is where you eat and sleep every night. To some people this is what home is.
Some people can’t experience these things. Some people don’t have beds or aren’t safe in their homes. Some kids don’t have warm jackets in winter or shorts in summer. Some kids can’t eat dinner in their own homes every night.
I live in a home where I get to sleep in the same bed every night and have a jacket for winter or shorts in summer. I never have to worry about things happening. I am one of the lucky ones.
Home is where you get to meet your family and talk about your day. Home is where you spoke your first word or took your first step. Some kids didn’t do that in their own homes. Home isn’t always perfect.
