Home

Home is somewhere you share the first day of your life, and the last day of your life. I am 11 years old, and I think that I am a very lucky girl. I have a family who cares about me, and who supports me and my dreams. We have a house, warm water, and heat. Home to me is also where you give thanks, and your prayers together as a family. Home is just amazing. Sometimes when you’re at home it could be the craziest day of your life or the saddest day of your life. Home is cozy and somewhere you cuddle up in your warm bed when you feel sick and lousy. Home is also where you feel safe at night and sleep tight. You can celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah, or whatever holiday you celebrate, and most importantly your birthday parties!!!
You also share memories with your loved ones, for example, the day you learned how to ride a bike or when Habitat for Humanity helped you guys out. You will also share moments of joy, such as birthdays and moments of happiness, such as when you graduate from middle school, high school, or college. Sometimes you may also fight with your brothers and sisters, and even your parents, but you will come back together as a family because love is strong between families. A house and a home are very different in my opinion because a house is just a structure made out of wood and nails. A home is where you go for warmth and love, and family to depend on in good and bad times. I think everybody deserves a home and that is why I want to help Habitat for Humanity to build a house for people in need.
