Are We Home Yet

Racing down the highway in an old Trail Blazer …In the mean time I wonder if where going to make it home on time. The sound of old car brakes burst are ears as we cross the drifty bridge. Are noses are hidden because of the awful smell coming from the front seat, it was me soccer practice then volleyball made me think of the blazing hot shower that I was going to take when I get home. While where still on the car ride home I wonder if there’s still ice cream in the freezer. My home was the only place where I could snuggle up on the couch and eat frozen cold ice cream. Good thing I have a good home.

My home is a place where I can relax, laugh and most importantly be safe. When I walk in my front door I know I’m in a protective place. For me my home is a place where I can just let my hair down, snuggle up on the couch and stroke my dog’s hair as I smother the blankets against my white pale skin. After I get home from school, volleyball and soccer I know that I can get in the shower and wash the stink away. Home is a place where I can be goofy and where I can wear my pajamas all day long. Movies and popcorn is what I like after a long day that is what home means to me.

When I get home I yank open the door jump over the stairs and I sprint into my room, I tear of my smelly cloths and plop them right on the ground like a pair of shoes. While pulling the pajama door open my stomach rumbles like the lighting, I throw on my PJ’S and like a flash am at the fridge door. My home is a place where I can celebrate Halloween, Christmas, Easter and etc. Laughter and warm snuggles is my life after long days.

Do you know how fortunate we are to have food on the table and a roof over our heads; we are so lucky. Did you know we are not all like that; we have so many people in this country let alone this world that have no shelter and no food. That is why the meaning of home essay is so important for every essay written a certain amount of money is donated towards helping people build a new home. So while you’re writing this essay think about all the other people without a home.

Do you have a place to call home? I fell so fortunate to have a home where I can snuggle up on the couch and feel safe. Even know I realize how fortunate I am I do realize how many people do not have a home or any food. As Wendy Wunder said “The Magic thing about home is that it feels good to leave, and it feels even better to come back”.
